So here is a story for all of you, even though I am sure a lot of you have heard it :) Don't worry I didn't die or anything like that!! We went to this place called the Hippie, it is a river that comes off the rain forest and normally it is not safe to go while it is raining because the river becomes very strong!! Annnnnyway on our way there it started pouring rain, but by the time we got to there it stopped raining and was very very nice out. So we started swimming across and jumping off the huge rocks that are on the other side. After we did that for about 2 hours one of the older brothers name Peter(in his late 60's) wanted to clime up the huuuuge boulders so that we could see the water fall. I learned that this brother had been doing this all his life and left us in the dust!!! We finally made it up there(took about 30 min) and let me tell ya, it was amazing!!! I can't even explain how amazing it was to see the water flowing down and the different types of flowers/plants around. As we started climbing down the boulders we noticed that the water was getting darker and louder... By the time we go to the bottom where we needed to swim across it was to strong to do anything and the water had almost reached one of the rocks we were jumping off of. At this point all of the mom's across the river were crying and worried but Peter and Edwin got them to calm down by shouting across the rive(still don't know how that worked). We finally started making it down the river thinking that if we could fallow it maybe, just maybe there would be a low spot where we could cross. We were very very wrong!! The farther we got the worse the water was. Then all of the sudden a man that lived high above the river came out and was yelling telling us that if we turned around and headed into the Jungle that we would soon find an old abandoned town(it had like 6 houses, someone was living in one of the houses) so we headed that way. We had to move fast but slow because it was getting dark(fast) but at the same time it was pouring rain and everything was very slick(slow.) We really had to rely one each other because if we slipped we would slip off the edge of a cliff or fall into the thorn bushes. I can't telll you how many times everyone caught me haha. After about 20 min of walking through the jungle we found the houses and there was a road that we followed that ended up leading us to the electric company. The two guys that worked there were very nice and let us out to all the moms that couldn't have been happier to see us! So that was my amazing adventure and all 7 of us lived!! Woohoo..
Welcome to the Hippy
Stupid rain!
Finally getting in!
Someone just jump!!
Lani thought that we were gonna drowned so she was swimming fast lol(there wasn't even a current)
We got tired
Time to slide!
Ahhhhhhhhhh my butt hurt after that!! Bad idea!
I did not know that water could bruse!! I angled wrong and brused the tops of my legs :(
I dived off a lower rock haha
Hard to see but this is when we started walking up to the water fall
This is when the water started rising
