Not enough time in a day..

My back hurts, my legs are sore, and my ankle is swollen but one thing is for sure, I am going to be in the best shape from all the service!! Haha, things here are very very different as far as service goes. The roads are hard to walk on and everything is either up hill or downhill so it takes a lot of leg strength. I also learned that there are no territory cards because the Island is so small that you don't need them, so when I told Yadera she was in shock, especially when I told her how many we have just in our congregation. Still things are going good and today I was so happy!! I finally placed magazines with some people by the ferry and they were very nice aaaaaaaand spoke ENGLISH. My grandma placed 18 :( But let me just say she kept taking all of my magazines and before I could say a word she jumped at the opportunity! She really is a great example for me and it's been fun here!!

Tomorrow we are heading to the main Island so I won't be able to blog but I will make sure and take a lot of pictures. We are going to go to the English meeting and then I'm going out in service in English! I might actually get to talk to people at there home. I'm so excited and can't wait to meet new people!! We won't be gone long though because there is a brother from Bethel coming to give a talk Saturday and Sunday(won't be able to understand a singe word) which means the hall is going to have a big get together!! I think after service Saturday we will all go to the beach then get ready for the talk that night then Sunday after meeting/service a brother is making dinner for all of us and back to the beach :D So long long weekend!!

Can't wait to show you guys how the weekend goes!! I'll talk to you soon and am starting to miss you guys! Goodnight :)

Another service day :D

Today was a pretty good day, not to to hot and not to windy(thought I was gonna say cold didn't ya?) I even got to talk to an English speaking person!!!!! I haven't been so excited to see someone in the ministry that spoke English, I even got to share a scripture with her :D Now if only it was easier to find her again. The sister I was working with said that they don't live on Culebra so finding her may be difficult but I am happy I still got to talk to her! Other then that it was just a day! Nothing to report.

Oh except my new little puppy :D Everyone meet little Panda! Is she cute or what?!

Mom you better love me!

So you all know my mom is coming in Dec. to see all of us and bring me home. Well she needs a place to stay right? So while it was raining today I was cleaning out the apartment for her n Jess to stay in. I felt like I needed a full body suit to go in there!! It was so dirty and full of junk!! The mangier here at Tamarindo is a pack rat and feels like everything can be saved, so just picture it!!

The pictures don't even do it justice! Atleast it gave me something to do :D
Love you momma :D

Rain rain go away!!

The storm finally came in!!! I thought it would never come, but then again it wasn't as bad as they thought because it had moved to the East, so we only got part of it. It rained a good hard rain for almost 3 hours strait then stopped and started again. It wasn't a warm rain either! For the first time in Culebra I was cold, oh I was so happy haha. So I made it through my first tropical rain and didn't blow away, woohoo.

Just another day on an isaland

Because of the weather I have had to retype this now 3 times and I'm to tired to retype anything lol so here are pictures!!!!! Oh and by the way if I don't post anything it's because of the weather, so don't worry its all good just don't have any Internet but as soon as I get it back(if this happens) I will let you know what all happened and yada yada yada lol. Sorry I'm falling asleep. K on to pictures :D

This was how bad the water was on the ferry, its hard to tell but it was like a minnie roller coaster!

It started raining so hard you couldn't even see out the window..

But here in Culebra it was still as hot as ever!!!

All sunny :D but now I am off to bed! Night :D

The catch of the day!!

Today I woke up at 7:30 just to go snorkeling!! Crazy huh?! Well let me just say this........... It was so worth it! My grandpa and I were out there for almost 3 hours and I got to see so many different fish and  swim right next to a huge sea turtle and it wasn't scared of me, well as long as I didn't make any sudden movements. I wanted to take pictures to put on here but I don't have an under water camera :( But don't worry I will soon solve that problem tomorrow when we go to the main island!! I can't wait to show you  how amazing it is in the sea! I do have some pictures to show you though of something I got to bring back home :D

TADA!!!!!!!! Some of the things my grandpa already had but I added onto the pile. You should have seen me trying to swim all the way back to the shore! But I was very determined to bring all the shells back with me and I did it :D only took forever hehe

This is called a conk shell and it was the heaviest I borough back!!! Come to find out once we got it all the way back to the house the little guy was still in there so we did what everyone else would have  ...done...

Just another day :D

Sorry I didn't get to post anything yesterday!! I was so warn out from service and snorkeling that I came home and crashed but I am wide awake now :D Today was an amazing day!! I got to get up early to do something I looooove! EARLY MORNING SERVICE :D Wooohoooo!! We didn't find many peoples though :( But I got to see the sun rise over the water and we even found one of the brother from the hall doing the same thing we were!

Then we met with the service group at 8:45 and my grandpa got the privilege to conduct the meeting because the brother had work, but would meet with is later(hes the brother we found this morning.) At first I was nervous because my grandpa and I couldn't work together because neither of us spoke Spanish and I was being put(ooooor had the privilege lol) to work with an older sister that liked to pick on people. She was so funny though and her English is really good and she defiantly speaks her mind, but I LOVE HER!! Oh and turns out she knows everyone on the Island because she was born and raised here, so I got to see where everyone lived and learn the names of ones I never even met(she is known as umm im not sure what it is in English but basically like the momma of the island.) It was a lot of fun!She even forced me to place magazines with a couple that spoke English and when they refused she said they were missing out on the best opportunity. I also got to work with her brother who's name means clear in English(strange name.) He was very nice and I found out he likes to joke and pick on people to so we got along just fine :)

Thankfully we got done with service a little early because it started to poor!! And I don't think and umbrella would keep us very try.

Oh and the sister that I worked with finally got here beer she had been talking about all morning!! This is her and her brother, ummmmm Julia and Clarro(I can't spell anyones names, but working on it!!)

Out in service :D

Today was the first day of door to door and it was so awesome!! Although I had to learn the Culebra(I learned how to spell it!!) walk!! It's so so sloooow but I soon understood why. It's because it gets very very hot(102 but, felt like 100bazillion out) and when you walk slower you don't get as hot. Also they don't have a lot of territory :( We also aren't allowed to go to the doors so we have to stand either outside of the gate or the door and yell "HOLA" as loud as you can so that the householder can hear you. It does make service hard though because I'm not learning Spanish as quick as I would like but I am sure soon I will get it down. One of the Elders keeps telling me he is going to stop speaking in English so that I will learn faster, but he doesn't because it only frustrates both of us haha and his wife finds it very funny!! They are a very nice couple and both started regular pioneering so I have a feeling we are going to become BEST friends :D They already are making plans and other days for service and also just fun things to do with the hall!! Like this Saturday we have hall clean up and after were all going to the beach and sometime within the next few weeks were going to go to the main island (Puerto Rico) and go to the caves and the rain forest. The brothers say that it is a very long hike in there but once your there its very breathtaking :D I can't wait and am soooooo excited!! I love everyone here!! Well I better sleep have alot to do tomorrow. Night.

After service and a siesta

After we got all rested up from meeting and service we walked down to the beach and went snorkeling and watched the sunset :D Jehovah has made some pretty amazing things!! I even almost kinda sorta stepped on a sting ray!!

Meeting

Today was the first day to the meeting and out in service :D The hall here is very warm and loving! Everyone greeted me with a hug and a kiss on the cheeck and the question "How long are you staying?" One sister even said that I wasn't staying two in a half months but a year! Lol I guess the hall is gonna decide when I go home. Oh and another thing, I got added to the school!! So in the next few meetings I will have a talk, as to whether or not I'm going it in Spanish or English I'm not sure(depends on how much Spanish I can learn between now and then.) Service went great we only did a few calls and now were home because right around now is when it gets the hotest!! Well that's all for now, I'm going to eat lunch!!

When it rains it pours!!!

Today we made our way down to the ferry so that we could go to Colabra(I think I spelled it wrong, still working on Spanish names/towns)and on our way I meant my grandparents taxi driver(Hernan sounds like ernon, but roll the "R".) He was so nice and was helping us out alot! My grandma and I were asking him how to say things in Spanish and he was giving us Spanish lessons as we drove to the ferry( hour and 30 min drive.) So far I have learned how to say the basics like excuse me, how are you, please, thank you, coffee, small(don't know why I learned that one) aaaaaand I've had to learn how to order in Spanish because EEEEEVVVVERYTHING is in Spanish!! Thankfully I know what chicken is in Spanish so I stick with that, haha.
Anyway once we got to the ferry it started to rain and it wasn't a light rain!!!! Thankfully we were under the shelter buying tickets. What surprised me though was everyone had umbrellas like it was normal! Oh well guess that is an investment I will be making soon lol.
The island here is beautiful!! Although some parts are very dumpy because the people just through trash everywhere. So it's sad to see Jehovah's beautiful creation being destroyed. Oh and its sooooooo hot! I thought my grandparents were kidding when they were telling me how hot it gets here, but I quickly learned it was all true!!!!! As long as you stay sitting down and don't move your fine, but the min you get up and start moving, well lets just say I hope you have deodorant on!!
Well that's all I can think of.......I will post some pictures of today and I guess I will wright again and let you know how meeting and service goes tomorrow :D Good night everyone!!
